About me

Dr Paul Kirby (he/him) is Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London, Senior Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Women, Peace and Security, and a former Co-Director of the GCRF Gender, Justice and Security Hub. His research has focused on wartime sexual violence, the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, feminist statecraft, global masculinities, and pop cultural politics. His latest book is Governing the Feminist Peace: The Vitality and Failure of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda (Columbia University Press, co-authored with Laura J. Shepherd). Other recent publications include ‘Sexual Violence in the Border Zone’ in International Affairs, ‘The Body Weaponised’ in Security Dialogue, ‘Women, Peace and Security’ in Journal of Global Security Studies, and New Directions in Women, Peace and Security (Bristol University Press, co-edited with Soumita Basu and Laura J.
