Student statement ~ Lina Benjelloun (CEMS student)

What was your role in the business project? What were the other roles in your team and how did you work together?

My main role in the business project was to organise the calls with the team at Cartier, as well as make sure that everyone in the team was collaborating. I was managing the main missions we had. My other role was to find people to interview for our qualitative data (through LinkedIn mainly). We worked together by using WhatsApp to communicate, and we made sure from the beginning that everyone liked their role and that it aligned with their future job aspirations.

How did you benefit from working with a Sponsor?

For me, it was really important to work with a company in the luxury industry, it personally helped me to improve my understanding of the industry as well as Cartier’s core values. Also, I had the chance to connect with our stakeholders on LinkedIn, which allowed me to expand my luxury oriented network, and also for potential future job role ideas.

What key skills or knowledge did you learn from your experience, and how will you apply them in the real world?

I learnt how to work with different cultures and backgrounds in the sense that we were all from different universities and countries, it helped us to collaborate with more sensitivity. I also learnt how important it is to have long term goals instead of smaller ones.
