I am a political scientist researching comparative political behaviour and the political economy of illiberalism. My work examines how citizens hold governments accountable in contexts where democratic norms are weakened, focusing on authoritarian regimes and far-right leaders in Europe and its neighbourhood. To study these questions, I use quantitative methods ranging from survey experiments to causal inference with observational data. Trained in both economics and political science, I completed my PhD in Public Policy at Bocconi University, Milan, in 2025.
