We are pleased to present the inaugural call for applications for a Visiting Fellowship in the name of the late David McClure, a valued alumnus, author and journalist, within the Department of International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science (番茄社区).

The aim of the David McClure Visiting Fellowship is to support writers and scholars who are committed to producing a significant, original non-fiction book or work for a mass readership. The Fellowship will enable the creation of work intended for a general audience, that is rigorously researched, non-partisan, and of contemporary relevance.

Features:

Reimbursement of £25,000 of receipted, approved expenses related to the visit, for up to six months.

The Fellow would be encouraged to participate in the Department’s Staff and PhD Research Forum and events programme, and to deliver a talk where they would share their research with our community of scholars, students and alumni.

  • Are aimed at a general audience.
  • Are in progress and need support to be completed.
